Recruiter, Java Track
Full-timeRemote — US
About the role
Run the candidate pipeline for our Java practice — mid-to-senior backend engineers across Spring, microservices, and platform work. You'll work alongside our QA-track recruiter, sharing a bench, a discipline, and a refusal to spam the market.
Responsibilities
- Source mid-to-senior Java engineers across Spring Boot, Kafka, JPA, AWS, and Kubernetes stacks.
- Conduct first-pass technical screens with enough depth to know which engineers we should and shouldn't put forward.
- Manage candidate relationships through the full arc: intake, submission, interview prep, offer, start, and check-in.
- Write submission notes that hiring managers actually read — short, specific, on-point.
- Coordinate with our Operations Lead on contract paperwork, onboarding, and timesheet rhythm.
- Show up at the six-month check-in for engineers you placed.
Qualifications
- 3+ years recruiting Java engineers in the US market, agency or in-house.
- Comfortable reading a Java resume — you should be able to spot a Spring Boot engineer who hasn't actually used Spring Boot since 2019.
- Strong written communication. Most of our submissions are read before any call happens.
- Honest relationship style. We don't do hard closes.
- Familiar with contract-to-hire, direct placement, and pure contract engagements.
Nice to have
- Background in Java development or technical project management.
- Experience working with VMS systems (Beeline, Fieldglass, etc.) without losing your soul.
- Existing relationships with mid-market and enterprise hiring managers.
Compensation
Base + commission. Bands shared during the second conversation; the floor is comfortably above the agency-recruiter mean.
